The firm said the process would get rid of ineligible entries so as to inspire confidence in the August polls. The audit firm explained its main focus would be to identify dead voters, eligibility of refugees, under-age voters, foreigners and missing details in the 19.5 million electronic voter register presented to it by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). The firm has only 21 days to submit a report to IEBC but the forensic audit will only take place once the Interior ministry provides the third-party details for cross-examination with the register. KPMG Chief Executive Officer Josphat Mwaura and partner Gerald Kasimu said the timelines would be met once the firm comes into possession of details from the Immigration Department on deaths and births, the passport registry and the refugees.
