Australian surfer in critical condition after shark ripped off his leg in a bloody attack

ABC reported that Gerring’s board was snapped in half before fellow surfers helped him to shore as he lost consciousness. Ben Gerring was mauled at Falcon Beach, just south of Perth, by what is thought to be a great white shark. A 29-year-old surfer is in critical condition after a shark tore off his leg in a grisly attack at a beach in Western Australia on Tuesday. Australian fisheries officers announced on Wednesday afternoon that they captured a great white shark, estimated to be 4.2 metres in length, near the location of Tuesday’s vicious attack. ABC also reported that a 3.5 metre great white shark was seen at Pyramids Beach, which is about five kilometres from the attack site, earlier on Tuesday.
