Anthony Lambert, who spent years studying Australia's response to the case, once described Corby as "the daughter who is Australia". In the beginning, polls showed the vast majority of Australians believed Corby had been set up. Australians, whose own country generally prohibits cameras in the courtroom, were transfixed by the trial footage beamed in from Bali: Schapelle collapsing in court.
