Authorities uncover 22 more e-waste containers in Port Klang operation


PETALING JAYA: Authorities have uncovered anotehr 22 containers of electronic waste (e-waste) at Port Klang as part of Ops Green Shield 17. Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) Port Klang Entry Control commander Deputy Comm Datuk Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said inspections carried out by the Port Klang E-waste Joint Task Force began at 9.30am on Monday (March 9). DCP Nik Ezanee added that more than 3,000 tonnes of e-waste have been identified since Ops Green Shield began. Monday’s inspection was conducted to continue verifying a container list provided by the Customs Department and Port Klang Authority in 2025. “The e-waste containers will be placed in a secure area while awaiting instructions from the Environment Department for re-export,” he said.
