I can’t believe I am writing to complain about John Lewis, a company I have always admired for its impeccable customer service. Last December I bought a £589 Panasonic camera for a wildlife cruise in the Indian Ocean. I decided to buy it from John Lewis, partly because of excellent in-store advice and previous good experience of the retailer, and partly as it was running a promotion of four Avios points for every pound spent through British Airways’ Avios eStore.
