Awami League-backed Gonotantrik Oikya Parishad won the registered graduate election for Dhaka University (DU) senate in a landslide victory. DU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Prof Nasreen Ahmad announced the result on Sunday at the university’s Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate building. Former DU pro-vice-chancellor AFM Yusuf Haider won the single seat from Jatiyatabadi Parishad panel. The winners will serve in the DU senate for the next three years. The DU senate, the highest policy-making body of the university, consists of 105 members.
