Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Monday. “Our leader directed us not to hold any crowded party programs this winter to tackle the second wave of Covid-19,” he said. The postponement may extend until March or April, the Awami League joint general secretary added. “The message has already been sent to the leaders and activists concerned of AL across the country,” A top leader of Awami League told Dhaka Tribune on condition of anonymity. We cannot violate the instructions of Election Commission and that is why election campaigns are going on in the areas concerned, but Awami League as a party will not hold any mass gathering type programs until the end of winter.”
