The media coverage has been extensive, covering everything from intruders bursting into Wembley Stadium to racist abuse being hurled at England players. Now BBC has released a statement over complaints about its extensive coverage, supporting its decision to do so. It added: ‘In our view it is a significant news event of considerable interest to audiences and our coverage has been proportionate.’This isn’t the first time the BBC has released a statement surrounding their Euro 2020 coverage.
