FALL RIVER – Bristol Community College and Portugal’s Camões Institute have extended a partnership agreement between the two institutions for three more years, which is aimed at supporting events and initiatives that promote Portuguese language and culture. On a more serious tone, he said it was really a pleasure to represent the Camões Institute president at the signing ceremony. The cooperation agreement is attached to a $5,000 annual grant from the Camões Institute to support BCC activities that promote Portuguese language and culture. “We’ll be celebrating World Portuguese Language Day in person for the first time since 2019,” Dr. Almeida said. “Normally from my experience, they don’t actually give money to universities.”In addition to BCC, Camões Institute has partnerships with other area universities, including UMass Dartmouth, UMass Boston, and Lesley University.
