‘The state and the government will have to shoulder the responsibility and take steps to curb such attacks’Two journalists’ organizations on Tuesday condemned the attack on journalists that took place in Nawabganj on Monday night. Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) said in a joint statement that 10 journalists were injured and 18 cars were vandalized during the attack, reports UNB. Unidentified assailants attacked journalists at Shamim Guest House in Kolakopa around 10pm on Monday when they werethere to cover electioneering activities. In their statement, the BFUJ and DUJ demanded exemplary punishment of the attackers. In another statement, they expressed concerns over the formulation of policies for journalists during the polls by the Election Commission.
