The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has issued a show-cause notice to Ashraful Islam, president of its Ramna Thana unit under Dhaka South, for filing a case against Nasiruddin Patwari, chief coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP). According to the statement, on the morning of Sunday, Ashraful Islam filed a case against Nasiruddin Patwari without taking prior approval from the party. Earlier in the morning, Ashraful Islam filed an application with a court against Nasiruddin Patwari. In the application, it was stated that during the 13th parliamentary election, Nasiruddin Patwari contested with the “Shapla Koli” symbol and lost by a large margin to Mirza Abbas. Lawyer for the plaintiff, Amirul Islam (Amir), said the court recorded the plaintiff’s statement and issued the summons for the accused to appear before the court.
