Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero on Saturday disclosed that the bureau was tightening its watch over the possible entry of banned meat products into the country after the bureau seized 84 kilos of undocumented meat products at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Thursday. “All ports of entry are continuously being monitored to safeguard the country’s borders against the entry of contaminated pork and pork products with African swine fever,” the bureau said. Although the shipment’s origin was not included in the list of banned countries for pork meat importation, the bureau seized the items to prevent possible entry of infected meat products.
