New Delhi, State-owned Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has inaugurated a 71 MW solar power plant in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, strengthening its renewable energy portfolio as part of its transition to cleaner energy.The plant has an installed capacity of 71 MWp (DC) / 52 MW (AC) and is expected to generate about 103.61 million units of green electricity annually, the firm said in a statement.The plant is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by 75,150 tonnes per year, equivalent to planting nearly 1.25 crore trees.Spread across 210 acres, the facility has been developed with 1.29 lakh solar modules, 1,324 metric tonnes of structural steel and around 294 kilometres of cabling.
