BREAKING: Kidnappers demand N200 million ransom to release children of ex-commissioner in Zamfara, others

Kidnappers of two children of the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Zamfara State, Alhaji Bello Dankande Gamji, a Civil Defence officer and his guard have demanded for N200 million ransom before they release their victims. A source to the former commissioner told Tribune Online that the kidnappers made a phone call to the father of two children on Wednesday evening that they needed N200 million as ransom. The source further revealed that when the former commissioner received the call and heard of N200 million as ransom, he was said to have switched off his handset. ‘Do not speak ill of the dead’ came originally from a Spartan philosopher, then it was latinated by the Romans to read De mortuis nihil nisi bonum – and got spread around the world like Chinese viruses. Dr Andrew Kwasari, Senior Special Assistant (SSA), to the President on Agriculture, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Abuja.
