Kuwait Sporting Club have confirmed the signing of former Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi on a one-year deal from Stoke City, The PUNCH reports. The deal was announced through the Twitter handle of Kuwait Sporting Club on Thursday. The 34-year-old had triggered a one-year extension to his contract last month with the Potters, but opted out for a big-money deal with Kuwait Sporting Club. Kuwait Sporting Club is his seventh career club since he moved to Europe in 2004, having featured for Lyn Oslo, Chelsea, Tianjin Teda, Trabzonspor, Middlesbrough and Stoke City. He also won two league titles, three FA Cups, the UEFA Champions League and the Europa League.
