The Supreme Court of Liberia has finally ruled out that there will be ‘No Rerun’ citing the lack of sufficient evidence, and further ordered the National Elections Commission to make all preparations that will accelerate the runoff election. Reading the opinion on behalf of the Bench, Associate Justice Philip A. “In the absence of sufficient evidence, the court cannot order a re-run of the election,” Justice Philip Banks said, reading out the court’s decision. He said, the Supreme Court cannot speculate that since it was proven that fraud and irregularities occurred at some polling places, it occurred Nationwide. Hundreds of Liberians as early 8am this morning gathered on the grounds of the Temple of Justice, the seat of the Supreme Court to witness the final ruling from the highest court of the land.
