The next BRICS Summit will be held in India this year. This should obviously resonate with India and BRICS, but critically be an issue that is of vital importance for the Global South. Moreover, geopolitically for India, a BRICS push keeps Chinese ambitions on global leadership on a green agenda in check. India’s green agenda focusing on resilience at the BRICS Summit 2026 would also resonate with Ethiopia, the host of COP32 in 2027.
