From 22-24 August, leaders of the BRICS countries, the economic grouping of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, will meet in Johannesburg for their annual summit. This week on The Horn, Alan Boswell is joined by Sanusha Naidu, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Global Dialogue, to discuss what to expect at the upcoming BRICS Summit. They talk about whether BRICS is moving from a group of emergent economies to a political bloc in opposition to the West. They also talk about what’s next for BRICS and where the group might look next for potential expansion.
