BT SportBT Sport is partnering with eSports specialist Gfinity to create formats and content that will help fill programming schedules during the Coronavirus-enforced suspension of sport. The ‘BT Sport FIFA Challenge’ is the first product of the partnership and will see BT Sport presenting talents and celebrities compete in a four-team tournament contested through EA Sports’ FIFA 20 video game. A draft to determine the teams was broadcast live on BT Sport last Friday, with weekly programs culminating in a 'Grand Final' on June 5. BT Sport will utilize these remote production capabilities during its eSports broadcasts, with Gfinity providing its experience in managing multi-feed gameplay. Should the lockdown venture between BT Sport and Gfinity be a success, it will continue once the world of sport resumes.
