Baguilat pushes for Cordillera Autonomous RegionBAGUIO CITY, Aug. 20 – Ifugao Representative Teddy Baguilat Jr on Friday said that with the rest of the congressmen of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), they will be able to fast track the application for the Autonomous Region of the Cordillera. The draft will be finalized for the region to gain its autonomy the soonest possible time. Photo courtesy of luzon.politics.com.ph“As Congress focus on the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), the focus on the application for the Cordillera Autonomy will soon follow, we must not be discriminated”, Baguilat added. Baguilat emphasized that the sustainability of the region under autonomy must consider the sources of revenue especially mineral resources whose income goes directly to the national government. Under autonomy, the region must have direct control over its resources such as agriculture, mineral, and water to provide electricity in most parts of the region, Baguilat said.
