Despite recent plaudits, reports suggest it might be difficult for Kante to win the Ballon d'Or because he is not a flashy player and he also plays in an unglamorous position. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo boast of 11 of the Ballon d'Or titles between themselves with the Argentine bagging six while the Portuguese has won it five times.
