Share:Concerning reports have emerged that around 64 percent of Balochistan—the largest province in the country—has no electricity. In 2021, it is completely unacceptable that only 36 percent of the province will have electricity facilities. The Ministry for Power Division has accepted the magnitude of the problem while pointing out there are many factors that influence the provision of electricity to the residents of Balochistan. While this may be true, at the same time it is important to remember that Balochistan’s power needs are the lowest in number, yet the provision of electricity continues to suffer severely. For far too long, Balochistan has suffered disproportionately from lack of development which has added to the grievances of its residents and instability as well.
