They were accosted by a gang of three bandits who shot at them killing the driver on the spot, as the other three sustained serious gunshot injuries. The survivors are receiving treatment at Samburu County Referral Hospital. The body of the deceased was taken to Samburu County referral hospital mortuary in Maralal town awaiting post-mortem. Speaking in a different function, Samburu County Governor Moses Lenolkulal said highway banditry should be tamed terming it ‘a vice that has already been overtaken by events’.
