The bandits in the letter informed the district head that their victims (abducted in Gatawa and Burkusuma) are all in good health and doing great with them. Sunday Tribune gathered that the bandits resorted to sending letters to families of their victims, following the shutdown of telecommunications services in the area. Meanwhile, Niger State Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport, Dr Ibrahim Garba Musa, has been abducted along with his granddaughter. The permanent secretary was said to have been abducted in his house in Zungeru by some gunmen suspected to be armed bandits. A family source stated that the gunmen entered the residential building by breaking down the entrance gate to abduct the Permanent Secretary.
