(Photo: Arnun Chonmahatrakool)Bangkok and surrounding areas were again covered in smog on Wednesday, with PM2.5 dust exceeding safe levels at 27 air-quality monitoring stations. The Pollution Control Department (PCD) measured PM2.5 particulate levels at 39-64 microgrammes per cubic metre, exceeding the government's safety standard of 50 mcg in 27 areas of Bangkok and surrounding provinces. In the North, PM2.5 particulate levels were measured at 24-75 mcg, with dust exceeding the safety levels in two areas - tambon Wiang Pangkham in Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai and tambon Jongkham in Muang district of Mae Hong Son, the PCD reported.
