Bangladesh offers duty-free access to 100 more US products to cut trade gap


In a move to reduce trade imbalances, the Trump administration has imposed additional tariffs on imports from over 100 countries. Previously, Bangladeshi products faced a 15 percent tariff in the US. With the addition of a 37 percent supplementary tariff, Bangladeshi exports now face a combined tariff of 52 percent when entering the US market. We are currently reviewing which products can help achieve that.”To reduce trade disparities with the US, Bangladesh has already waived tariffs on 190 American products. The letter also outlined several reform initiatives Bangladesh is willing to undertake to reduce the trade gap with the US.
