The man, identified as Masoom, was living in India since 2010 and was sentenced to death in 2013 in Bangladesh in a kidnapping-cum-murder case, according to the Delhi police. After getting bail from the court he entered in India illegally and was living in India since 2010. However, The Times of India quoted an unnamed source as saying that, Masoom may have committed another murder in India. Masoom was sentenced to death in Bangladesh for kidnapping and robbery with the murder of a store owner in Bagerhat. After the man went missing, Masoom allegedly established physical relationship with the friend's wife and lived with her.
