Even those who are seeking fresh education loans are finding it tough to get sanction. Data show that education loan disbursements declined to ₹1,478 crore in FY21 from ₹2,420 crore in FY20. The education loan waiver is one of the promises of the DMK as well as the AIADMK for the 2021 Assembly election.
