Baume & Mercier, the most affordable Richemont brand, has entered the fray. The new Baumatic movement runs for 120 hours (five days) before needing to be re-wound. The Baumatic movement, Caliber BM12-1957A was developed by the ValFleurier, Richemont’s movement making arm. Just as Montblanc needed Minerva, Baume & Mercier needs the Baumatic, its first in-house caliber. Baume & Mercier is Richemont’s least expensive brand, and the Clifton Baumatic is just $2,790.
