I went for a routine check-up last week and received some good news. After four years of pain, physiotherapy and an operation for a torn hamstring, I am finally clear of injury. As of this month I am running and stretching again, can drive for more than an hour and can even sit down while writing, instead of standing up at a desk, looking like I’m waiting to check in passengers behind an easyJet desk at Luton. Though if I’m totally honest, amid the relief there was a tiny pang of regret that I wouldn’t be needing another operation anytime…
