borkenaSeptember 12,2018Dr. Belachew Mekuria was appointed as Head of the Ethiopian Investment Commission to replace Fitsum Arega, who is now Chief of Staff in the office of the prime minister, only four months ago. A report by pro-government media, Fana Broadcasting Corporation (FBC), reported today that Dr. Belachew has resigned from his position as Commissioner of one of Ethiopia’s key institution, Investment Commission. Public Relation Director of the Commission, Mekonen Hailu, has told FBC that the Commissioner is resigning as of September 11, 2018. Investment Commission did not disclose, apparently, the reason that the commissioner is resigning. Some tend to think that Dr. Belachew is resigning probably because he is facing a situation that has something to do with corruption and that he didn’t want to be part of it.
