Berjaya Corp hits fresh high on active trade after new CEO Jalil acquired 70 million shares


KUALA LUMPUR (March 25): Berjaya Corp Bhd's (BCorp) share price rose to a fresh high of 33.5 sen this morning, becoming the most actively traded stock shortly after the opening bell today. As at 9.29am, 185.38 million shares had been traded, over 13 times its 200-day trading average volume of 13.66 million shares. Yesterday, BCorp announced that its new chief executive officer (CEO) Abdul Jalil Abdul Rasheed had acquired 70 million shares at 28 sen a share, amounting to a 1.4% stake in the diversified conglomerate. “I have acquired 70 million BCorp shares to show I’m putting my money where my mouth is. BCorp shares have soared 75% from 18 sen since his appointment was announced on March 16.
