Ethiopia’s foreign policy is undergoing a deliberate recalibration shaped by the acceleration of global multipolarity and intensifying competition between Eastern and Western power blocs. This article argues that Ethiopia’s contemporary diplomacy is best understood as strategic hedging between East and West, rather than bloc alignment or ideological realignment.
