Beyoncé leads the way, as her most recent album Lemonade has been named the bestselling record of 2016. 1 on the Billboard 200, sold 2.5 million copies around the globe last year, putting her in first place, but not by much. Adele’s 25 comes in a close second, ending the calendar year with 2.4 million copies. Only two other titles managed to sell at least 2 million copies during 2016, with Drake’s Views settling for third with 2.3 million, followed by Metallica’s Hardwired...To Self-Destruct, which shifted 2.1 million. When combined, the top 10 albums listed sold a total of 19 million copies in 2016.
