Beyonce is to release a surprise visual album entitled Black Is King on Disney+. It is based on the music of her soundtrack album The Lion King: The Gift, which was released last year in conjunction with the 2019 re-make of the animated classic. “Black Is King is an affirmation of a grand purpose, with lush visuals that celebrate Black resilience and culture. The film highlights the beauty of tradition and Black excellence.”The film will star the album’s featured artists and some special guest appearances. The visual album will be released on Disney+ on July 31.
