For Daulat Singh, who retired as Assistant Conservator of Forests last year, a fascination for forests and the big cats endures. Singh has also penned a book, My Encounter with the Big Cat and other adventures in Ranthambhore, chronicling his experiences. Remembering the attack, Singh says, “In the morning, I received a call from the Deputy Director about a male tiger, T-7 in Bhuri Pahari, a village on the outskirts of the reserve. With my tranquillizing gun, I quickly reached the spot and discovered a huge crowd, making a lot of noise and throwing stones at the tiger making it more irritable. I did encounter T7 on a later assignment in Sariska, but it did not attack me.
