(PTI)New Delhi: The Union health ministry on Tuesday asked people not to "panic" and said the nipah virus outbreak in Kerala was "unlikely" to spread because early and efficient containment measures were being taken. The situation is under control, Union health minister J.P. Nadda said. The minister reviewed the situation in Kerala with Union health secretary Preeti Sudan and Indian Council of Medical Research director-general Balram Bhargava. The health ministry said nine persons were undergoing treatment and isolation wards had been opened in several hospitals in Kozhikode. This appears to be a localised occurrence," the health ministry said.
