Steven E. Landsburg’s “The Cynicism of Joe Biden’s Minimum-Wage Politics” (op-ed, Oct. 5) leaves out the most important fact about the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour: It isn’t livable no matter where you reside. I would know—I’ve worked for minimum wage and was once a single dad raising my son. Take my home state of New Jersey where the minimum wage is $11 per hour. Americans across the political spectrum support increasing the minimum wage to $15. Now, after more than 11 years without change, it’s time to raise the wage.
