Like its predecessor, the SLS rocket is years behind schedule and overbudget and has yet to fly. “It’s time for a female administrator,” tweeted Wayne Hale, a former NASA space shuttle program manager who was the flight director for 40 missions. AD“The NASA administrator should be a consummate space professional who is technically and scientifically competent, and is a skilled executive,” he said during Bridenstine’s confirmation hearing.
