Dan Neil doesn’t like the new BMW X7 SUV because it’s ugly and burns fuel (“Rumble Seat: This BMW ‘Driving Machine’ Isn’t Remotely ‘Ultimate,’” Off Duty, April 27). In both instances, he compares it unfavorably to a Tesla. For commuting to Manhattan, with brief jaunts to the Hamptons on weekends, the Tesla might be the right SUV. If, on the other hand, you want to tow your 20-foot boat 400 miles to your cabin in the Rockies with your wife, three kids, dog and two weeks’ provisions, your Tesla isn’t going to cut it. For actual sport utility, you need interior space, towing capacity, horsepower and range.
