Blogger Robert Alai has been acquitted in a case where he was charged with posting an offensive message on Twitter. Alai had claimed that EACC director Halakhe Waqo had a fake University of Nairobi degree which he used to ascend to office. The blogger allegedly posted that he was not going to relent on the matter whether in jail or out. Alai is accused of posting on his Twitter account a message intended to annoy Waqo regarding his education credentials. The development means that the blogger can only be re-arrested if new evidence is found in pursuit of the matter.
