The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are exploring the idea of hosting an NFL pre-season game between the Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers at Investors Group Field after a potential plan to hold the game in Regina fell through. The Bombers would not confirm nor deny interest in hosting the game, which has been reported to be scheduled for Week 3 of the NFL pre-season, in late August. The Bombers are on the road in Edmonton on Aug. 23 and are at Saskatchewan on Sept. 1. However, Morley Scott of 630 CHED radio in Edmonton reported that the Eskimos do not have a bid in to host an NFL pre-season game. That potentially leaves Winnipeg as the only suitor and both NFL and CFL sources said there is something to the story.
