The 34-year-old Estrada is set to become a free agent after this season when his current contract, a two-year, $26-million deal he signed in 2015, will expire. The deal is expected to include one guaranteed year, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, who first reported the deal was in the works on Twitter shortly after Toronto’s 5-2 win over the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night. The Blue Jays are reportedly closing in on a contract extension with right-hander Marco Estrada. For Estrada’s part, the pitcher has made it clear he wants to stay in Toronto. “Obviously I want to end on a good note,” Estrada said after his last start this past weekend against the Minnesota Twins.
