Blue Ribbon urged to probe Bersamin link to flood messMANILA, Philippines — The Senate Blue Ribbon committee should investigate the alleged involvement of former legislative liaison officer Adrian Bersamin in the flood control anomaly, including his alleged text messages with President Marcos, House senior deputy minority leader and Caloocan Rep. Edgar Erice said. In an interview with “Storycon” on One News on Friday, Erice said it was Sen. Panfilo Lacson, chairman of the Blue Ribbon committee, who first brought up Bersamin’s alleged links to the scandal. Bersamin is the grandnephew of former executive secretary Lucas Bersamin, who was eased out after his name was also mentioned in connection with the scandal. “We’re trying to help uncover the truth by urging the Senate Blue Ribbon committee to summon the Bersamins, summon Congressman Leviste, so the truth will come out,” he said, referring to Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste. Leviste reportedly showed Erice and other lawmakers alleged text messages between the younger Bersamin and Marcos discussing supposed kickbacks from flood projects.
