Disaster management officials from Kirinyaga county on Tuesday night retrieved the body of a man who died in a 115-foot well. The five-hour grueling task saw the body of Stephen Muriuki, 50, retrieved at 11pm. Muriuki is said to have suffered electrocution as he was installing an electrical water pump in the well in Kiangai area within Kirinyaga West . According to the disaster management department, Muriuki had been assigned the task despite his incompetence in wiring and electricity installation. Kiama said it was no easy task to retrieve the body owing to the depth of the well and the positioning of the body.
