The police have completed its operation to recover and examine a body that was found on Fox Glacier last thursday. Search and rescue coordinator Sergeant Mathew Tailby, of West Coast, said a team from Greymouth have travelled to the Glacier by helicopter this morning. "Favourable weather conditions meant the recovery team were able to land the helicopter very close to the scene and recover the body with no complications," he said. Since the remains had been there for a while a postmortem in Christchurch is necessary in order to identify the body, he said. A tramper discovered the body in a crevasse near Chancellor Hut about 10.30am on Thursday March 2 and contacted police.
