Earlier on Tuesday, minimum temperatures remained mostly unchanged and maximum temperatures marked a sharp fall by 5 degrees Celsius on average, reducing the gap between the two temperatures to 4 to 12 degrees causing a chilling cold. “Besides, a blowing cooler wind increased the intensity of cold causing misery to common people,” Rahman mentioned. He said the minimum temperature of 12.2 degrees Celsius was recorded at 9 am today against yesterday's 13.2 degrees and maximum of 17.5 degrees against yesterday's 20 degrees Celsius at Rangpur city. District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer (DRRO) of Rangpur Md Golam Kibria told BSS that distribution of warm clothes continues among the cold-hit distressed people in the district as elsewhere in the sub-Himalayan northern region.
