Booze a factor in Melbourne drownings

Two men drowned after they got into trouble while swimming in a Melbourne lake after drinking. The men - one aged 19 and the other in his 30s - quickly got into trouble in the lake on Redleap Reserve at Mill Park. A neighbour, Nathan, tried to save the men, after hearing screaming from the park across the road from his home. "(I) could see their friends frantically running around in the water, screaming and crying," he told Seven. Nathan said visibility was poor and the water was extremely deep, with a layer of floating mould and debris.
