Former government sources told The Daily Telegraph they believed that the two men had swapped messages Andy Rain/EPABoris Johnson communicated with Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, over WhatsApp, it was claimed last night. The allegation comes after Prince Mohammed was accused of being involved in the hacking over WhatsApp of a phone owned by Jeff Bezos, the billionaire owner of Amazon. A forensic analysis of the alleged hacking has found that a phone belonging to Mr Bezos was probably corrupted by a file sent from a WhatsApp account that purportedly belonged to the crown prince in April or May 2018. Within hours there was “an extreme change” in the device’s behaviour and the volume of outgoing data jumped. It was claimed last night that Mr Johnson had also been in contact with Prince Mohammed on the app.
