THE fate of boxing in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics depends on whether or not the International Boxing Association (IBA) can make the reforms in time and comply with the conditions set by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Boxing, along with weightlifting and modern pentathlon, have been dropped by the IOC from the provisional roster of sports for the 2028 Games. "By the end of 2023, IBA has to fulfill the reforms the IOC is asking it to do. I hope our international federation will make the necessary adjustments to appease the IOC because there's no going around it. In the same Congress, the international federation also changed its abbreviation from AIBA to IBA.
